A Fresh Wind, an Opened Door

By Haley Hsu

the freedom of opening every door

is the fresh wind which awaits to greet you,

renewing your soul

contenting the thirst for

friendship,

true abundance,

and embrace,

all restored.

the fog may still seem unclear,

hazy afar

but you will thank yourself later

thank yourself for this gust of fresh wind that will wash over you

breathing new life into your soul, this

new beginning,

new season,

and new door

yearning to be walked through

yet, if only you could break through the walls caving in

closer and

deeper.

if only you found the courage, hidden inside your heart, to let the sunlight pour in,

your darkness wouldn’t seem so lonely anymore,

your life wouldn’t appear to be mundane.

you would no longer be peering through the mist

no longer be in a

season of

waiting.

but stepping into a new day,

a fresh season, through a new door

I am Haley Hsu, a third culture kid and Freshman in high school who transitioned to the U.S California after my family lived in China After going to a bilingual international school and being immersed into cultures across Asia, I have grown a passion for writing both historical fiction stories and poetry. I was captivated by the outdoors and nature at a young age and find joy hiking or camping in the mountains, where I thrive. In my free time, I enjoys playing with my dog Banjo and spending time with my family. I hope to be a missionary or motivational speaker one day and spread the joy of the Lord with others. .
