Loving Hands

By Sophie Lenoel Quang

In the middle of the thundering sea

The world wages war on me

Fire, lightning, wind, rain

Mother Earth ready to take aim

But before fear can fill my mind

Loving hands reach for mine

They put me up on a pedestal

And save me from the unthinkable

Their embrace guards me from the sky’s tears

And settle my fears

Their gentle whispers console me

And set out the flame to set me free

In our bubble there is calm, it is warm

The shield blocking out the storm

Their support gave back my strength

Now I stand, unfazed by the ocean's wrath
