Quest for Humanity

By David Kim

In the old days
Of winters past,
Isolated with my mind
And refusing contact outside–
This is a new era for me.
Isolation would only lead me so far
With the winter’s breeze soldering
The days when trees lose
Their bristling green leaves.
I have sought to resurface
With my forced amiability—
In the corridors, I usually stroll quietly
While spreading my branches of words.
