When You Move, I Move
By Maia Goldman
Swift songs of serenity sung by scarlet sparrows
Musically-color the trails of light whispers of wind that swirl
Around us, dancing alongside the
Grand spots of greenery that enrapture the cement foundation
Upon which our love first began.
Spots of pink nestled in the comforting green intricacies
Coating each rugged branch ever so lovingly,
Foreshadowing your body around mine.
The sparkling silence encroaches in, creating a vignette in between
The grandiose walls of the place where I learned most;
Where I learned to love you.
Rays of sun dance along your flawless face
Your deep hazel orbs sparkling like my North star complementing
Your finely sculpted nose with smooth contours and
Strong jawline coated with subtle hints of dark brown stubble
Adding to your hidden rugged charm that I would spend hours dreaming about.
Trapped in a ring of blazing flames as the words were lured out of me
Like beautiful bronze honey cascading out of a sun-kissed jar
Every last drop settling into the palm of your hand
Representing the everlasting love I have for you.
Your strong and comforting fingers gently brush against the small buds dangling from the branches,
Drawing out silky, big, beautiful, and healthy pink petals
Embracing your loving hands,
Just like my hands around yours.
The sun brushes against your fern green t-shirt, highlighting each intricate thread pattern
Representing a complex and thoughtful mind,
Your soft, chestnut brown hair dances in the wind as my chocolatey hair follows your rhythm,
Our eyes doing Chopin's Minute Waltz in D-flat Major
Coming to a graceful stop when your orbs and mine lock.
When you smiled, I smiled.
When you stop, I stop.
When you move, I move.
